(3,505 posts)I know several people in Venezuela. When I've seen them outside of Venezuela (international scientific meetings). they've expressed thoughts similar to those some associate with this year's Nobel Peace Prize honoree - that anything that would bring regime change would be acceptable to them. Whether or not I agree, I've seen enough to help me appreciate why they hold these views.
I take exception to your dismissal of my opinions as "so what?" I never said that. I explained that I understand their perspective, whether or not I agree with it.
A neighbor of mine lost his daughter to murder. This neighbor is now whole-heartedly in support of the death penalty. I oppose capital punishment with all of my being, but I can see why he sees things differently. That's what I'm doing here.
