Trump announces he's designating antifa as a "major terrorist organization"

43. So, the far right is saying Elm Fork John Brown Gun Club and Armed Queers Salt Lake City are

supposedly behind Charlie Kirk's killing.

I stumbled on this because, I went down a rabbit hole looking for some background info on a local issue https://www.tpr.org/government-politics/2025-09-17/texas-rangers-uvalde-police-investigate-death-of-congressional-staffer-to-rep-tony-gonzales and the rumor happened to be coming from a far right person. Then, popped up recent tweets about Elm Fork and Armed Queers on his feed. (That person is a supporter of AKGuy who is running against Gonzales. AKGuy and Gonzales are both Republicans)

The far right refers to many groups that are antifascist as "antifa", which isn't accurate. Of course, Trump is also far right, so any group that is "antifascist" is "antifa" to him.

However, the leader of Armed Queers SLC is affiliated with the Party of Socialism and Liberation, which is totalitarian, which is pretty much the opposite of antifa.

So, it appears these are pop-up type protest groups, which are "anti-fascist". Fringe groups will often have seedy people hanging around, such as Benjamin Song and his crew.

There is no evidence that Armed Queers SLC had anything to do with Charlie Kirk's murder. They're just a group that Trump doesn't like.

Also Sen Mike Lee recently tweeted a poster from Armed Queers of SLC and called it horrifying. (A dark haired woman who was armed LOL)

If the FBI has concerns about the Elm Fork John Brown Gun Club and Armed Queers of SLC, they can surveil them. They can surveil just about anyone. However, they can't be designated as terrorist groups! Congress would have to create a law that allows domestic groups to be designated as terrorist groups. There is no such federal law. (States have domestic terrorism laws however) Trump tried to designate antifa as terrorist group in 2020. It didn't happen.
