Ten Republican senators urge Trump to reverse school funding freeze

President Donald Trump's administration on Wednesday urging it to reverse its decision to withhold $6.8 billion in congressionally approved federal funding for K-12 schools.

Am I missing something? I watched all those School House Rocks videos when I was a kid. So you can understand my confusion when I see sitting members of Congress begging a president to not take away the school funding they approved and was already signed into law by a president.

The power of the purse shall reside solely with the Congress.

That's what the Constitution says.

What am I missing here other than an ineffective Congress that refuses to assert their Constitutional authority?
