I remember working with the Coast Guard way back when. There could be a small detachment of CG on a Navy destroyer and it could stop vessels and the LEDETs would handle any actual law enforcement duties. The Marines can't go around arresting people and turning them over to ICE... but they can definitely "guard buildings" as well as guarding federal law enforcement agents
