... but the problem is the fact that no one is willing to address the root of that problem: Ronald Reagan's ruthless intervention in the Central American countries who's duly elected governments refused to bend the knee to American corporate interests, hence the death squads trained and funded by this country in order to secure compliance with the greedy desires of corporatists. The resultant failed states run by murderous gangs are what those people at the border are fleeing.
The problem will never end until the US faces up to the problem Republicans created, and helps to stabilize those countries so people won't be forced to run for their lives.
But, of course, that will require Republicans to admit they were wrong. Anyone wanna make book on the likelihood of that ever happening?
