Apparently doing stained-glass piece "tweaks" to them to "soften" the imagery was an interesting way to go about it. Considering the size, complete replacement would have needed the amount of time and thought that happened for what to put there instead.

Thank you for that historical tidbit regarding the temp "fixes".

The 4 long window panes were apparently "a thematic set" and it was long past time to remove them. And as many would note, Washington D.C. very much was in and considered "the south"!
