Born Anthony Dominick Benedetto August 3, 1926 in Queens, New York he spent the 1950 summer honing his voice singing at local vacation spot Meadowbrook Lodge, Meadowbrook NY. An Italian family owned venue that still caters weddings, etc. "Because of You" came on in 1951 his first big song. He was a WWII vet. Co.. B 255th Infantry Regt. 63rd Division Combat infantryman badge.
