(20,111 posts)Like today. A man admits he lied on the 4473 federal background check form, which is a felony, and gets a handgun he should not have been able to possess legally.
Then we all cheer that he isn't prosecuted for it. Oh, and we invoke Clarence Thomas's convoluted Bruen ruling as an excuse for why he would have had a good chance to beat it if it went to trial, so it's fine.
But in a few days we'll be complaining about the lack of gun laws in this country and how the corrupt USSC has bastardized the true meaning of the Second Amendment in rulings like Bruen.
Either Bruen is bad law, and Hunter Biden committed a felony gun purchase, or Bruen is good law and Hunter Biden did nothing wrong when he lied on his background check.
I'm of the opinion that Bruen is bad law, no matter who it may help in the short term.
