In reply to the discussion: Man who dragged officer into mob gets over 7 years in prison [View all]AverageOldGuy
(3,057 posts)I live in rural VA, near the Northern Neck Regional Jail. (FYI: VA has a system of regional jails, mostly in rural areas. Our small rural counties cannot afford our own jails, so, several counties support a regional jail -- Northern Neck Regional serves my county. The VA "Northern Neck" is a peninsula of six rural counties between the Potomac and Rappahannock rivers, bordering on the Chesapeake Bay,)
Now, for the rest of the story. A good number of federal prisoners are held in these regional jails awaiting trial or sentencing. NNeck Regional has been home to a dozen or so Jan 6 thugs who have become heroes to our local Tea Parties and Patriots. One of these groups, the "Northern Neck Patriots" is led by a guy who was tossed out of the Navy for refusing a COVID shot. He's a self-appointed "pastor" of a small church.
The NNeck Patriots have adopted the Jan 6 prisoners in the NNeck Regional Jail as a cause. They claim the Jan 6 thugs are being beaten in the jail, given dirty details, and the like. They visit the Jail regularly, give the warden fits, and generally make asses of themselves.
One of the Jan 6 thugs in NNeck Regional -- Chris Quaglin -- has made a martyr of himself claiming that he is glucose-intolerant and suffers from celiac disease; the Jail has him on a special diet (but he purchases honey buns, noodles, and other goodies from the jail commissary -- not exactly a celiac disease diet).
Albuquerque Head is one of the thugs in NNeck Regional who is being championed by the "patriots". I'll make certain they all know about his sentence.
