But convictions often require more than just speech.

People sometimes say things like, "I could just kill that person"; that's unlikely to get a conviction unless there's evidence of intent to act on that threat. It's an idle threat without it.

This is where the video might shed light. If she talked about how she could make payment, that might be enough. If she pulled out her phone and said "see I've got the money in my bank account, just tell me where to wire it", that would certainly be enough I would think.
