Their infected members failed to disclosed their identities and continued to meet in the hundreds of residences and facilities the Sincheonji maintained outside of public church sites.
As I understand there is at least one lawsuit pending against them now in the amount of approximatley 500,000,000 dollars for the immense damages, sicknesses and death they have caused. They tried to defuse the legal claims against their organization by offering about 10,000,000 dollars to the government to help assist in the public health effort. Korean law barred the government from accepting the offer, as it might be construed as a settlement of outstanding claims, which are likely to be huge.
Church officials and organizations that violate standards of care in a public health emergency should be subject to full legal liability for the injury and death they cause.
