To which my usual response is, "The intelligence report said Russia wants to sow discord. The general attitude is that disinformation from Russia cannot be trusted. But we implicitly trust anything that those who are so pro-Trump say that's obviously so anti-Trump, while implicitly distrusting anything they say that's pro-Trump. We don't evaluate their trustworthiness, except against how much they tell us what we want to believe is true."

Isaev just believes the dossier. He cites it. He believes it. Because it's there and it's convenient. It's more of the same, not an independent witness. And Isaev is very much not pro-Trump. He's very much pro-Russia and wants to slap Trump down.
