it goes straight to the heart of our democracy. And if that country was successful in getting its choice of candidate elected, fraudently, we have in fact been taken over by that foreign government, in part. Esp if the candidate is grateful, which by all appearances, he is.

This is not an either-or. We MUST protect the country, first and foremost. We ALSO must be concerned with jobs.

This sounds like something a Republican reporter would say, which is what I thought this article was about.
