You do understand that this letter went to the US Attorney? Guess who investigates bank crimes on behalf of the US Attorney? That would be the FBI.
This isn't the "HRC Camp's" doing at all, either--there's no need. She will be the nominee, that is pretty much established.
This all started with Jane wanting millions of dollars for an expansion for a crappy little boutique college that was a) unaffordable and b) wrongheaded.
If her husband had a role in leaning on the bank and using his undue influence to pressure them into making a bad loan--and tellingly, the bank president refuses to answer questions from the media--then he's going to be called to answer. That is the charge, in essence.
As for scrutiny, Sanders still hasn't gotten any to this point. He's been very lucky. Of course, it doesn't matter anymore--he's not going to be the nominee.
If he decides to run in 2018, this business could hurt him, though.
