In reply to the discussion: NYC ELECTIONS OFFICIAL SUSPENDED FOR VOTING ISSUES IN BROOKLYN [View all]glowing
(12,233 posts)When a state is completely controlled by Democrats, in large part, and most of the officials in the state from the Gov down to Election officials have endorsed Clinton, then people are going to accuse the other candidate of the issues. AND had this been just 1 state where voting irregularities have occurred, then most would say, fix your state's elections because they stink to high heaven.
My personal thoughts, the vote totals needed to be double digit for Clinton. Exit polls showed a much narrower lead for Clinton. When exit polls and vote totals do not add up, are significantly irregular, then there is a problem on the actual tabulation code. This used to be well covered and well known by people in the Democratic party; especially since Kerry had the votes flipped on him in OH and Al Frankin made them do an actual re-count and won his Senate election in 2008. AND our politicians know that elections can be electronically altered within coding or hacking of the machines or at the central tabulator. If they want a number to appear, they can make it appear.
The people who have the most to lose in money, power, and ability to stay out of jail, are those in the establishment. So, yeah, lefty types, those who whistleblow, those who organize at the grass roots level, those of us normally raising flags are often called loons or conspiracy theories... AND then low and behold, information comes to light, and yeah, those "conspiracies" were facts.
Like I said, I do believe Clinton won. I DON'T for 1 second believe she won with that great of a margin difference. Which would have looked bad and split the delegates pretty evenly between the two. AND the minute she won, what did every establishment news, surrogate, politician, pundit do? Encourage him to give up. Tell Sander's voters to put down their Birdie posters and start GOTV and sending those tiny donations her way.
BTW, why in the world is any candidate for national election at the Presidential level presumptuous to run when they are under FBI investigation? You don't think Republicans aren't going to hammer this point every single day if it hasn't been wrapped up OR God forbid, she is indicted? This worries me quite a bit more than it obviously does other people.
On Edit:AND I'm not trying to start more crap or fight with someone who may be a bought poster; since that is a campaign tactic now. I'm upset with our elections in general and that they are soooo easily manipulated. The fact that we can't really trust what is happening during the primary or the G.E., is a real problem for Americans. Add to that all the politicians, especially on the right, that don't want new voters or certain types of voters, and create voting blocks to participate. The reality, it should be easy and honest. If you are a citizen, you should automatically be enrolled as a voter. When you move, your I.D. updates the system. How hard would it be to assign a voter I.D. number for every citizen at the age of 18? We have social security numbers that follow us through life. The IRS sure as hell can keep track of us and where we live and where we work. AND as much as I despise electronic voting the way it is done now, I also recognize that paper ballots tend to become padded or lost or broken into (Wisconsin anyone?). Maybe there is a way to do it online and also be able to track your Voter I.D. number and that it tabulated in the proper voting columns... One way to double check I suppose. Then again, voting has always been allowed a "secret" process so that no one will hold your vote against you in a negative manner (which could happen - remember after 2000 when you had to be a secret supporter in the Southern states, or face possible physical assault, loss of job, and general nastiness). No matter what, this election and democracy shit has got to get better. We rank horrifically on a global scale on accurate voting counts. Maybe the UN needs to come in and monitor the elections for honesty.
