The attack gave the Bush regime everything it wanted. The Patriot Act, the wars, the profiteering, the huge run-up in commodity prices (which had been depressed since 1986), a second term, and God only knows what else.
They, at the very least, had an oar in this one and have to be held accountable. But oh, wishes were horses.
