Hello everyone,
It's time for DU's Summer Fund Drive, and we could really use your support. As most of you know, DU is funded solely by advertising and Star Memberships -- but unfortunately global ad rates took a big downturn at the start of the year, which means that so far 2023 has been quite tough for us financially.
So if you can, please consider purchasing a new Star Membership or renewing your existing Star Membership during this week's Summer Fund Drive. Your contribution will ensure that DU continues to survive and thrive into the future.

And we have some exciting news about that future! I'm pleased to announce that on Monday September 4 we will finally begin a full-site open beta of our new design -- DU4 -- for all site visitors to use.
However, as an incentive to contribute during the Summer Fund Drive, anyone who purchases or renews a Star Membership between now and August 20 will be able to access the DU4 beta two weeks early, on Monday August 21 (the day after the Fund Drive ends).
In addition, we have our usual Summer Fund Drive perks:
- For every $5 you contribute, you'll get a sticky to post on Grovelbot's Big Board.
- For every $35 you contribute, you can choose to receive a DU bumper sticker and/or gift a Star Membership to a member who doesn't have one.
The Summer Fund Drive will run for one week, from August 13 through August 20. Thank you for your support!
