Are you talking about the use of the the Democratic Party name? That was purchased by all Democrats including more progressive Democrats who have felt that since the 1990's the Party has moved away from supporting policies benefiting the middle class to those supporting the professional class. In that respect, Sanders was using policy and rhetoric used by one of the Democratic Party's best presidents, Franklin Roosevelt. Sanders emulated the populist rhetoric that Roosevelt, Kennedy, and Johnson used regarding the fight for economic justice. How is that not a Democratic value?
Are you talking about actual roads? Those are purchased by all people who pay taxes, including Republicans.
