28. DEFEND THE NEW DEAL, Dems, or what's the point. Repubs talking openly of ending SS & Medicare as we

know it, and our response is..... what?

Defending 100 yrs of progressive legislation &policies - protection of environment, clean & publicly owned drinking water, public schools, transparency in govt, labor rights, equal pay for equal work .... I could go on...defending 100 yrs of progressive history should be a no-brainer. The SAME ARGUMENTS FOR leaving social security as it is are the same arguments as they were 80 years ago, when SS was first set up. Regulating the banking industry - same arguments apply now as they did then.

Cant really blame the silence on media not presenting it. Media LOVES controversy and fighting, so where are the voices of the dissenting party.....ie Dems????

Was amazed to read recently that the 1965 Voters Rights Act was pretty much gutted by Repubs a few yrs back, thus paving the way for the extreme and obvious voter suppression tactics we are now seeing. Again, the Dem response was, and is..... what? WHERE IS our new Voters Rights Act for the 21st century?????????????????????????????????????????????? Again - same as it ever was! Same arguments apply now as they did then.
