(4,213 posts)I am pretty confident that she is talking about Brian Williams (the "certified liar" and Luke Russert (the "novice"
. She was contrasting herself with them, as a host who has a strong record, and someone who has a Ph.D. in political science. Not to mention, although she didn't mention this part, the fact that there is a heavy focus on issues impacting the black community as coverage moved into South Carolina which is more-or-less her specific wheelhouse. Therefore, it is shocking that MSNBC wouldn't be putting her on the air to do her coverage. After all, it's not like she would be ignoring what is going on with the election coverage.
Though, what I think stings the most is not any of that. It's the fact that they took her off air without comment, and then refused to respond to her in any way. Then, in order to avoid answering questions, they attempted to put her back on air, but only after they attempted to seize editorial control over her by basically telling her "just read what we put into your teleprompter like a good talking head." That's where she drew the line, and the reason she sent the letter out to members of her staff.
