What an image from this Politico headline: Santorum pressed on Limbaugh [View all]

Rick Santorum was pressed on the controversy surrounding conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh on Sunday, but denied that his party is fixated on birth control.

The Republican presidential contender told "Fox News Sunday" host Chris Wallace that the legislation offered by Republicans in Congress that would allow health care providers to opt out of coverage due to moral objections was not about restricting the availability of birth control medication.

"The Blunt amendment was broader than that--it was a conscience clause exemption," Santorum said. "No, no, it wasn’t about birth control it was a moral exemption to any kind of mandate."

Pressed by Wallace about his own beliefs on birth control, and a prior statement that he made calling contraception a "license" to do "things in the sexual realm," Santorum denied that his personal beliefs will impact his plans to govern.
