3. There is a mining

company drilling bore holes in the Ashland, Wisconsin area for samples. They are drilling to confirm (or not) whether there is taconite at that location.

The local Ojibwe tribe, along with others are camped near the drilling site protesting.

I am sure the armed guards are hired by the mining company. I am also sure they are not armed with automatic weapons. My question is, at what point would they fire those weapons? I sure hope it does not come to that.
