18. Oil companies get subsidies because they've bought and paid for our politicians

Which is why I have ZERO TOLERANCE for anyone in government who says the American people must sacrifice, lose SS benefits, cut back even more than they have. "Shared sacrifice" I think it's been called.

When are the oil companies, making record profits for years, going to share in the sacrifice? The American taxpayers fund the profits of the oil companies, banks, and other major corporations--all of which are doing exceedingly well right now. If they can't make a profit on their own, without corporate welfare from the government and taxpayers, they should go out of business.

I don't care who it is, Obama, Pelosi, whoever--they are all aware of this, and as long as they allow this corporate welfare to take place, allow tax loopholes to stand that allow corporations to pay zero taxes, allow loopholes so America's wealthiest families can keep more of their wealth and pay less as a percentage than everyone else--as long as this is ignored and not addressed, they will not have my support on anything that takes more from the middle class or those in need.

No bankers have been prosecuted for crashing the economy, no one has been held responsible for the loss of jobs, homes, savings, investments, or anything else. People who illegally had their homes foreclosed will now get around $1,000 for their loss. This is bullcrap. It will continue, until we get the money out of our politics and elections.

They might as well make the American middle class stand in the street and get physically beaten by their representatives, because that's essentially what they're doing.
