Because misinforming clickbait is kind of their whole deal.

Actual journalistic sources I've seen are using plot or plan to describe this. Which seems like what it was, but no one seems to be treating it like a big deal so far.

The Internet is not doing young people many favors. It allows idiots to congregate.
