They know people are intimidated, young or not.
They are LEGALLY allowed to lie to you.
They will take advantage NO MATTER what the situation, unless you stand up for your Constitutionally protected rights.
They learn these deceptive tactics in the Academy, and continue using them on a daily basis.
The lawyer who makes those videos has a lot of useful information regarding encounters with police.
Well worth a look.

They legally cannot "force" you to take the test. You can refuse, and should, considering what can (and did) happen.
