I understand that these type of allegations have a tin foil hat ring about them. But can someone please explain to me why, in comparison, Trump's allegations of "rigged elections" are treated with kid gloves and allowed to hang out there and infect the electorate and the political dialogue. Even when the so called media mentions that there is absolutely no proof to them, and they have been thrown out of court - what 68 times? - it's always added as a throat clearing, sotte voce, post script to the main headline. Why the double standard?

We know that Trump always projects when he is attacking, and that he is corrupt as the day is long, so is it that hard to believe that he would try to rig the election?
