1. Military families don't expect praise or accolades all the time.

But they probably don't expect civilians in cushy safe jobs to bet on whether
their loved ones live or die in combat.

There is a military family having a hard time right now.
They know what the possibilities are. Most are not good possibilities.

But they are not going to cry, whine, or make a fuss in public.
They are going to keep their mouths shut and chin up.

As for the civilians betting on the death of their loved one,
I will spare you the comments the military families are saying privately.
I can only imagine.
