Biden did great things in his term as president, lifting us out of the disaster that was covid and helping the country recover as much as it could. It was ALWAYS going to be a tough road and we were never going to be in a perfect place 4 years later because the entire planet was hit with a global pandemic. Biden helped us recover and did many great things during his 4 years.
He also made a mistake in not announcing he would not seek a second term right after the midterms. By the time he did withdraw, there was no time to hold a full primary. Kamala was the only possible one who could run and she had to hit the ground running, and she did the best she possibly could despite Joe waiting until the 11th hour to drop out.
There is nothing we can do now but learn from these mistakes. Clooney is not helping matters by making this the conversation right now. Why is he not using his presence and visibility and influence to talk about how R's are allowing people to go hungry for a month, without pay for a month? Allow them to lose health care coverage? That should be the conversation, not beating the dead horse of 2024.
I think we are in both a terrible place right now as a country where many are suffering, but also potentially a place where people may realize that their vote they made in 2024 might need some rethinking as they go to the polls again in 2026 and 2028. When the economy is bad and people are unhappy, we usually have a "change" year. I think that could lead to us having good results in 2026 and 2028 if we keep our eye on the ball.
