I just posted below the same issue with my chiming pendulum clock. Except that when I first got one 10 years ago, I just took the battery out, moved the time to close to what it needed to be, and got ready for the news radio station "beep" to push that big hand over the "12" to start the chime (although on mine, it goes over the "XII"
)!

It was important when I was working. Now that I'm retired I usually don't know what time of even day it is.
