He is getting desperate therefore he is trying to destroy just about anything and everything as he sinks into a personally terrible time for him (his mental/physical decline can't be hidden any longer) and his poll numbers are tanking with his constituents. That's all it takes to "get even" with the country as a whole.

He is a vengeful psychopath and destroying part of the White House is the tip of the many desperate actions he is very capable of doing.

Right now I'm trying to be realistic and prepared, at least as much as I can be.
