(9,263 posts)They remind me of the fantastical projections from the 1950s of how humans would live at the changing of the millennia, rocket packs, flying cars, food generators and the whole nine yards. In other words, complete science fiction.
How can someone who heads up an outfit aimed at space flight maintain that "millions" would be living in space in 20 years? Such a statement requires complete ignorance of the overwhelming problems and pitfalls involved in near-Earth habitation, not to mention the engineering impossibilities in constructing such environments in a 20-year time frame.
Either he is outright lying with no expectation anyone hearing him would know any better, or he is verifiably delusional/insane. Of course, the average person has such a deplorable lack of critical thinking skills and/or general science knowledge that most just won't know the difference.
