11. Based off what? That dodgy X account Alt National Park Service? I saw another estimate floating about the board:

Data journalist G. Elliott Morris, in partnership with Atlanta-based science newsroom The Xylom, gives a median estimate of 5.2 million, with 8.2 million as the upper boundary.

Importantly, unlike AltNPS, Morris shows his work.

Of course some DUers only trumpet the upper boundary number of 8.2 million and ignore the median estimate of 5.2 million.

I recall in June that multiple posters here were claiming the first No Kings back then had 12, 15 million people turn out (a few others were ludicrously saying 10 percent of the total US population, which would meant almost 35 million) and anyone who took the slightest issue with their numbers was a defeatist or perhaps even a closet Trumper. Another DU posted about Alt National Park Service clai9ming 12 million showed up then.

The Alt National Park Service has spent months stealing from journalists, directly plagiarizing the work of others more than a hundred times.

With more than 4.3 million followers on Facebook and nearly 900k here on Bluesky, they've built a massive following on theft.

I created a massive spreadsheet to track every instance of stolen work, and honestly, it was less work than it sounds like. In most cases, I found the original source of AltNPS’s post with a simple Google Search.

Finding and citing sources is easy, which makes AltNPS's plagiarism even more damning.
