Local sources in Gaza told the BBC that six Hamas fighters, including a senior field commander, were killed in one strike on the town of al-Zawaida

Hospital source told BBC News that 44 people were killed across Gaza throughout the day

Israel also announced a suspension of aid into Gaza, amid accusations over the ceasefire violation

But hours later, the IDF said "renewed enforcement" of the ceasefire deal - which includes an end to the fighting and more aid into Gaza - was under way

The Israeli military says it has "begun renewed enforcement" of the ceasefire, hours after carrying out strikes on Gaza.

The statement continues: "The IDF will continue to enforce the ceasefire agreement and will respond forcefully to any violation of the agreement."

Its latest statement again accuses Hamas of breaching the ceasefire deal.
