1. Biggest since the Moratorium demonstrations back in 1969?

That’s my impression. I was a young adolescent back then with all the political sensitivity of a rock back then, but I remember hearing that the second Moratorium rally was HUGE—nearly half a million demonstrators in Washington, DC.

Correct me, somebody. I suspect that there were other protests in other US cities back then, but I don’t believe that the other Moratorium demonstrations had the strength of numbers or the sheer number of cities and towns where protesters turned out.

Yesterday’s protest looks like it was far larger and had a far larger share of the national population than the Moratorium demonstrations over 55 years ago.
