I credit his attitude and perspective with coming through the election prepared for what happened and ready to stand up for democracy from the beginning. No immobilization from fear or sadness, although I wasn't free of either, but it was tempered with resolve.

He's one of perhaps the handful of writers for whom I am a paying subscriber.
