because it let's him push a conversation in any direction he wants it to go and it gives him the warm fuzzy feeling of having "special knowledge" about things and events, that endorphin burst from believeing he has finally arrived at his proper place among the elites.

He's in a perpetual feedback loop of self delusion so we should expect things to get weirder.
