A Democratic Party booth was booted from a county fair in Ohio over offensive, politically-charged buttons, officials say. The Ashland County Democratic Party booth was removed from the county fair on the afternoon of Thursday, Sept. 18, after fair officials were made aware of offensive buttons at the booth, fair officials said in a Facebook post.
We are a family friendly fair and do not condone this from any vendor/merchant. We apologize for those who saw the display, officials said, adding that the decision was not political, we just cant have this at our County Fair!
The buttons seemed to be referring to President Donald Trump, news outlets report.
On one of the buttons was an image of a red baseball cap, emblazoned with the word felon, and in bold text below, asking Is he dead yet? WOIO reported. Another button with the same design but different text read one day we will wake up to his obituary.
The Ashland County Democratic Party said in a Facebook post that the buttons were, in hindsight, something we should have thought about more, given the current political climate in the wake of Charlie Kirks assassination
