5. I like that Murphy is focusing on saving Democracy right now.

He said several months ago (and I'm paraphrasing) that we have to focus on saving Democracy or there will be no more elections. There is an urgency, and I agree with him.

However, I think he brings the right group of qualities to take up the mantel in 2028. He is smart and articulate and genuine and a great communicator. He pays attention to civics lessons and doesn't talk down to people. BUT - we need to get a handle on this Democracy so we can make sure there are free and fair elections for both 2026 and 2028.

As to the idea of Newsom and Murphy - I don't think so. It might be a battle of egos, and Newsom has to be the top dog. And I believe Newsom has too much baggage. I am not sure who the ticket should be at this point. I do believe the Dems have to be smart. I believe the consultant class has guided them wrongly in the past. They need a ticket that doesn't allow for a margin for error. No taking chances.

We need to save our Democracy first! We need two free and fair elections. And then we need to fix some wrongs, so there is a more fair and stable system..
