This line from PeeWee Hegseth's speech is really disgusting:

the Golf tournament the "Ryder Cup". That was more appalling than what I have ever seen at a sports tournament. And the response from the president of the PGA, and the USA team captain was worst.

It is appalling because it had never happened before at this level, Rory McIlroy's wife was hit in the head with a beer bottle, she had a hat that seemed to protect her, but the slurs that were targeted at her were despicable. And the president of the PGA answered that "he could understand the abuse to Rory because Rory is so good, but the abuse to other European players was uncalled for." (I am paraphrasing), so it is OK to abuse Rory and his wife, but the others? they are not as good, so spare them. Of course the guy went to retract his words, at least he didn't say "they took my words out of context", but the public apology was as bad, and then he went on a "save my self" act by apologizing directly to Rory and his wife.

What I am getting at is that trump opened a can of worms, and now the worms are "unleashed".
