to the analogy to Queeg. The tragedy of Queeg was that at one time he was a fine officer. One doesn't get promoted to O-6 by screwing up. The seeds of his insanity may always have been there, but he must have been able to keep them in check prior to his promotion to Captain. And then they got out. Bligh I don't know about - that was another nation's Navy and a very different time. But Queeg - and I know in the movie that was communicated, I'm sure intentionally, in the faces of the officers who comprised the Court Martial. there's pity there, and pain.
The Apricot Antichrist has always been who he is and I can't see a sane person feeling sorry for him.
