...just the Dem leader wedging and tweaking republicans on healthcare benefits and their own branch's budget priorities vs the Executive.

Thune said he was open to health care legislation similar to what Schumer wanted but not in this budget.

Whatever happened, the cave was in the republicans and the WH agreeing to a meeting they said all week wasn't going to happen signaling their own nervousness about their own budget.
