Acetaminophen is my only option. Thirty years ago I spontaneously developed an allergy to regular aspirin (and all other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) that could KILL me, and naturally I found this out the hard way. Eyes swelled shut so fast I only had time enough to fish out one contact lens, and I started drowning in my own...fluids. Luckily I was in the military, and at work, so I got taken to the ER pretty quick. Hospitalized for three days' observation, looking like a wasp nest went berserk on my eyelids. Nowadays I'm an arthritic old git who relies on topical painkillers just to get through the work day and if they aren't enough, it's time for Acetaminophen. Please, DO tell me more about "downsides" and "comfort," you coked-up dungbag.
