Patel consulted a paramentalist to find out the guy’s identity, and then hypnotized him via long-distance hypnotic suggestion to turn himself in, and to claim that his father talked him into it. Smart move, since even Patel correctly guessed that his unique super power of hypnotizing strangers from 2000 miles away might not be believed by everybody he told about it.
