I grew up Ukrainian Catholic in a 2/3rds Jewish neighborhood reform, conservative, and secular. The rest of us were a mix of ethnic Catholics, a bunch of Protestants, and secular.

Most if not all of my Jewish friends had big gaps in their families. I even saw (though it seems to be maybe uncommon vs the large ones on the forearm) a blue numbers tatoo below a friend's grandmother's wrist. Yeah.

So I was raised by osmosis "Israel can do no wrong.". I even tried at 14 yrs old to get into the audience that would occasionally be let in to the UN's General Assembly to observe the proceedings during The 6 Day's War in '67. Yeah.

So I feel this Vet's questioning on a much smaller scale. And I've have had distain for Bibi for a long time. Have questioned some of Israel's actions re Gaza Pre-Oct 7 of and on for some years. And hate the bullying, injuring, murdering, and destruction of homes, and olive trees of Palestinians in The West Bank by illegal settlers.
Disgust at the hedious starvation going on. The massive bombings previous, and on going. And yes, I want Hamas wiped out, too.

So it's been a journey.
