9. The UK university sector is fucked

Unless it’s Oxford or Cambridge. We can proudly thank the Tories and now Labour for that.
Helps if one is in STEM, but not by much.

Might be Europe’s gain, but not the UK. If anything they’re making it worse to migrate to the UK as well, and near on impossible to switch jobs (which is already difficult in academia).

Yes I’m bitter, because it’s my sector.
