In reply to the discussion: The 7 Largest Dow Jones drops in US history....ALL TRUMP [View all]Callie1979
(651 posts)37. Oh, our messaging certainly sucks, but forget the MAGAs
The voters you need to reach aren't MAGAs. The MAGAs are pretty much a lost cause & will ignore ANYTHING negative about trump because they're a CULT.
But they also didnt win this election. The voters that won looked at the disaster at the border & changed their mind from 2020. THOSE are the people we need to focus on with the right messaging. And you dont even need to change that many minds; he won by a couple 100k votes over a few states I. believe.
But After this past election I'm afraid we're still not "getting it" as far as messaging goes. We've got 18. months to get it straight

Yep. It just invites someone to say that the three largest Dow gains of all time were under Trump

And simple minded fools won't question that the three greatest Dow gains were under Trump.

You are talking to DU here, not maga. Please don't assume most DU members are simple minded fools. . . . nt

Yay for percentages. Day losses are dramatic and attention getting, but what really costs are the long declines. . nt

The Dow is a useless broken price-weighted index easy to calculate with 1900 era adding machines.

Thanks. 1987 was dramatic, for sure, but I was not paying attention in 2020 or 2008. Nice to review again. . . nt

You list useless point changes. Another thing: Counting helps. You list six, not seven
