On Senator Booker [View all]

I have the greatest respect for what Senator Booker did and the vast majority of what he said but I also have to be intellectually honest and disagree with him on one significant point.

It's a point he has made in the past and one that I disagree with even more now than I did in the past.
It's the idea that we need to embrace Republicans and hug out our differences and all that bullshit.
I promise that is never going to happen. I would rather die first. I mean that shit.
That is no different than being asked to help out a spouse in a tough spot while they are still actively beating you half to death.
These people are actively snatched innocent people off the streets and sending them to torture prisons in another country. Actively cutting critical funding to control epidemics in the US and around the world. Not just cutting it but gleefully so. Bragging about it. Making memes about it. While people die.

Seriously, it was an incredibly amazing accomplishment and 25 hour straight speech that would have been even better without such pointless sentiment of trying to appeal to middle-right independents.
