7. Back in January I had to wait almost 2 weeks to get a password code in the mail

to set up the SS account and thought that was strange, but I was never asked for photo ID. I already had a Medicare account and a login.gov for FEMA application. The code worked fine but sometimes the SS website is down and then if I wait a while, its back up. A friend told me today he is having problems getting his SS account active and that he was going to have to provide photo ID.
