(10,164 posts)I hesitate to participate in a gun thread right after a shooting/media circus, since hysteria and anger tend to outweigh rational discussion by about ten-to-one, but this point is too important to let lie. If prevention of spree killings is to be any sort of national priority,* and some form of additional gun control is proposes as part of the solution, just what specific legislation do people propose, and in what specific way would it effect the problem?
* I think it should also be pointed out that while they are high-profile and emotionally powerful, spree killings represent a tine portion of the toll of homicide in this country. The death toll from mot any one of these horrific incidents represents the norm in some areas. Those murders don't seem to get much attention.
