12. Some yes. Some no. Some of the tariffs hurt our farmers because China responded to Trump's tariffs

Our farmers lost the Chinese market to Brazilian farmers.

The difference between Trump's strategy and Joe Biden's is that Joe Biden used a stick and carrot approach. Joe Biden incentivized manufacturers to build their plants in the USA with tax credits, subsidies and other financial incentives.

Trump's strategy was all stick and no carrot. Trump placed some tariffs but the effect of that was companies considering Vietnam or India or some other country to diversify their supply chain rather than bringing their plants back to the USA. He scared them away from China (kinda... a little bit) but drove them into the hands of other countries. There was nothing to entice them to come back to the USA.

They had the same idea, but their strategies were entirely different. IMO, Trump's strategy was terrible. Biden took a more diplomatic approach as well, including other countries in his China strategy. Trump just thinks the USA can go at it alone, and his strategy reflects that.
